It was much more true to a real '62 than the MIJ Fenders. At some point Fernandes moved most of their vintage type line manufacturing to Korea. IMO this level of Squier bass, for me at least, would be a better choice than a Fender Made in Mexico model. The Squier can be had for under $400 now while the MIM starts at $850.
