2003 1.8 TDCi - will not start poor fuel delivery? - oldlag : Been on before on this - for 7 months now, once in a while my Focus 03 plate only 24K miles 1.8TDCi 115PS refuses to start -RAC men says it fuel delivery its been into Ford Dealer had £2000 (yes 2000) of parts fitted new PCM, new fuel pump system etc crankshaft sensor yet still plays up. Hi, my name is Ritchie and i need some ideas as to my problem if someone can help me. i have a focus tdci 1.8 sport 04 platequick history but poor starting and white smoke after 4 years of no problems , so after a new battery, new starter, new fuel filter, 2 sets of glo plugs i had the injecto The only other thing we can find is that at idle 2 of the injectors show a reading of 1-2 and the other 2 show 4000 + and drop to 0 when engine is accelerated. Symptoms at the moment are- starts and runs normally after 5 minutes idle then goes into limp mode. maximum revs 3000 and splutters and smokes on acceleration. My mate does custom remaps so I'm looking into getting mine done soon, mine is the same engine as yours and he reckons approx 35-38 BHP gain, and around 50 newton meters of torque,,,, not bad going that, and 10-20% better on fuel too.
